Terms of service
Effective July 29, 2026
1. The agreement
These terms are a legally binding agreement between you and TrueStandard Labs LLC, a Texas limited liability company ("we", "us"), covering the Decode iOS app and decodelabs.app (together, "Decode"). By accessing or using Decode you agree to be bound by these terms and by our privacy policy, which is part of this agreement. If you don't agree, don't use Decode.
2. What Decode is — and what it is not
Decode is educational, not medical advice. It shows you what named public figures have said about lab markers and supplements, with the source and the moment they said it, next to your own numbers. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent anything, and it holds no medical opinions of its own.
Using Decode creates no doctor–patient relationship. Never start, stop, or change a medication, supplement, or treatment based on the app alone — talk to your doctor first. If you think you have a medical emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number now.
The experts quoted in Decode are not affiliated with us, have not endorsed Decode, and their views are their own. We show you what they said, where, and when — nothing more.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to use Decode.
4. Your account
The app identifies you by an anonymous device identifier, or by your Apple account if you sign in with Apple. You are responsible for keeping your device and Apple account secure. Give the app accurate profile answers — its safety checks (for example, around iron) depend on them.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Decode Pro is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through Apple's App Store. The price is shown before you buy.
- Free trials convert to a paid subscription unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
- Cancel any time in your Apple account settings; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Billing, and any refunds, are handled by Apple under Apple's terms. We never see your payment details.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse Decode. That includes: breaking the law with it, scraping or bulk-extracting its content, reverse engineering it, probing or disrupting our servers, reselling its output, or submitting someone else's health information without their permission.
7. Accuracy
Decode reads documents with automated extraction, and extraction can misread. Always check the app's numbers against your original lab report, and tell us when something is wrong. Where the app cannot read something reliably, it is designed to say so rather than guess — but no automated system is perfect, and we do not warrant that any output is accurate or complete.
8. Ownership
Decode — the app, this site, the design, and our compiled content — belongs to TrueStandard Labs LLC. Your data is yours: you give us a limited license to process it solely to run Decode for you, as described in the privacy policy. Quoted expert commentary belongs to its speakers and publishers and is presented with attribution as short referenced excerpts.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Decode is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that Decode will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its content is complete or current.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, TrueStandard Labs LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of Decode. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars ($50).
11. Ending things
You can stop using Decode any time, and delete your data as described in the privacy policy. We may suspend or terminate access that violates these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (2, 8, 9, 10, 12) survive termination.
12. Disputes
If something goes wrong, email [email protected] first — we'll try to fix it informally within 30 days. If we can't, any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts of Texas, and these terms are governed by Texas law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
13. Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll post the new version here with a new date and flag it in the app. Continuing to use Decode after a change means you accept it.
